PRESS RELEASE
For Immediate Release: (Date Monday July 4th, 2011)
Baroness Floella Benjamin to address 44th Anniversary Meeting of Caribbean Council for the Blind-Eye Care Caribbean
Baroness Floella Benjamin of Beckenham will be the special Guest Speaker at the 44th Anniversary Meeting of the Caribbean Council for the Blind-Eye Care Caribbean to be held in the twin-island Republic of Trinidad and Tobago during July 27th to July 30th, 2011.
Baroness Benjamin sits in the House of Lords as a Liberal Democrat Peer. She is currently leading a nation-wide campaign to save UK-made children’s television programmes, as well as, leading the fight against Air Passenger Duty (APD), which is having a crippling effect in the tourist industry, particularly in the Caribbean; with (potentially) catastrophic effects on eye care and other health services across the region.
